Rep. Sutton Issues Statement on Healthcare Repeal Vote

Statement

Today, Congresswoman Betty Sutton (OH-13) released the following statement in response to the passage of H.R. 6079, the repeal of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act:

"This vote today is yet another unfortunate political distraction from the real job of putting people back to work. Instead of voting to strip coverage away from young Ohioans and reopening the Medicare "donut hole' for seniors, we should be focused on creating economic opportunities for Ohio families. We could have voted to hold China accountable for their currency manipulation or for legislation like my "American Jobs First Initiative' that will strengthen "Buy American' provisions and put people back to work; but instead we have continued to waste the time of the American people with another vote that will never be passed into law. The American people deserve better, and I call on Speaker Boehner to use our remaining session days to bring real jobs bills to the floor of the House so we can put Ohioans back to work."
