Issue Position

Like most people in District 76, I too feel the pain of obsessive county taxes. It seems every year county commissioners are looking for ways to increase our tax burden, this problem must be addressed through making voter approval mandatory for certain tax hikes. Moreover, our tax code shouldn't be allowed to pick winners and losers, it should treat each individual and each business the same. Currently our state gives away nearly 4 Billion in special interest tax exemptions - an example is that while I paid $300 sales tax on my $5,000 truck, another person would pay only $300 on his $1 Million jet! It's time for our tax system to be simple, fair, and honest!
