South Carolina faces a tremendous crisis of resources right now with respect to our energy supply, with some experts predicting rolling blackouts by the year 2015 if we don't take action now. Clearly, we need to invest heavily in clean energy sources like nuclear, wind, solar and alternative fuels, but we also need to make sure we keep the lights on until those sources become abundantly available. Additionally, it is imperative that we follow the lead of states that have succeeded in implementing conservation initiatives, like tax credits for families and businesses that use energy-efficient products and processes.
