End the Good Ol' Boy Network

To anyone with any sense at all, the word "bipartisan" is a bad word; "two party system" is an invective. There is so much wrong with our bipolar politics that for the first time in nearly a hundred years, more Americans identify themselves as either "independent" or "third party," than identify with either of the status quo parties.

So it's time to look hard at the party "alignment" of US Senators. In fact, it's time to end it.

The tradition of granting committee assignments, and effectively, extra power based upon partisan fidelity is not only unconstitutional, it is also not working.

It's not just unfair that some Senators have more power than others based upon seniority and "paying dues," it's immoral, dysfunctional, and apparently, destructive.

So should I become Indiana's next US Senator, I will refuse to "align" with either of the crony parties. I will use every opportunity I get (and I'd get plenty, as the first Libertarian Senator), to end the bickering partisanship, the crony back-scratching, and the behind-closed-doors dealing that has been harming Americans for too long.
