Congressman Black's Statement on the June Unemployment Report

Statement

Date: July 6, 2012
Location: Gallatin, TN

Today, Congressman Diane Black released the following statement regarding the Labor Department's employment report for the month of June:

"This month marks 41 straight months of unemployment above 8 percent. With only 80,000 jobs created and 85,000 Americans enrolling in Social Security disability insurance, it's clear that the economy is not even treading water. The president's tax and spend policies have left millions of Americans unemployed and unable to provide for their families.

"Instead of working with Congress on solutions that will turn our country around, the president continues to make excuses and blame others for his own failed leadership. To get our economy growing again and creating jobs, we need policies that will restore certainty and confidence in the US economy. That's why we must repeal Obamacare, enact pro-growth tax reform, and provide regulatory relief for America's job creators."
