Issue Position: Social Security and Medicare

Issue Position

America made a sacred promise to generations of working men and women that they would be taken care of in their golden years. After working and paying into Medicare and Social Security their entire lives, it is only fair that Congress take steps to strengthen and protect these programs for current and future generations of retirees. Sandy knows that we cannot ask those seniors reliant on Social Security and Medicare to make changes to their retirement plans after their working years are over, which is why she opposes any efforts to change Social Security and Medicare for those aged 55 and above. To ensure the long-term solvency of the programs for those younger Americans, Sandy is willing to consider any serious ideas for how to strengthen these social safety nets for future generations. Keeping our promise to American seniors is too important to ignore.
