Issue Position

America is a nation built on the hard work and ingenuity of peoples from around the world. Millions of people have come to the United States in search of a better life for themselves and their families, including many fleeing the threat of oppression and genocide. For more than two centuries our nation has given others the opportunity to emigrate to the United States -- an opportunity millions of people have taken advantage of in a legal manner. Sandy supports policies that strengthen our nation's border security, oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants, and reform and strengthen programs to allow for legal immigration. Our nation can continue our proud heritage of welcoming those individuals willing to follow the law and make our country brighter, without offering amnesty to those who came here illegally.
