Issue Position

Throwing more money at education does not solve our education problems. We need to make sure our tax dollars are spent in the classroom, preparing our children to compete in today's marketplace. We spend the majority of our education dollars for college preparation. We need to make sure that students going into trade jobs are also prepared. Nationally, 48% of jobs available are trade or skill jobs. We are doing a disservice to our students by not offering this type of training in our high schools.
