Along with Senator David Ige and other area legislators, Mark has been able to secure much-needed construction funding for our area schools and roadways. Since 1994, they have successfully budgeted more than $340 million for area projects. More than $160 million was secured for the funding of improvements to our freeways and highways. These projects included the H-1 Freeway expansion over the Waimalu viaduct, which cost more than $65 million. In addition, more than $9.5 million was approved for improvements to Kamehameha Highway.

Nearly $150 million was secured for improvements to the schools in Aiea and Pearl City since 1994. These improvements included whole-school renovations at nearly all of our schools.
