Lower taxes and simplify both the corporate and personal tax codes.

Eliminate sales tax on food.

Help small businesses get established and grow by exempting the first $25,000 to $100,000 in profit from corporate taxes. Small businesses are West Virginia's and the nation's primary job creators. We need to recognize this fact and reward them. Currently we tax them heavily so we can give Amazon.com a tax cut.

It is not enough to keep shopping West Virginia out to giant corporations by offering specialized tax cuts, preferential regulatory exemptions and backroom deals that are not available to native West Virginia businesses. Low wage jobs transferred to West Virginia by giant corporations whose executives visit West Virginia only long enough to donate campaign cash and cut their special deal are not the road to a prosperous future. It means higher taxes for the people and small businesses of WV who have to subsidize this system of crony capitalism. West Virginia is not a third world nation, we shouldn't act like one. Yes, we can sell our state as a great place to relocate from high tax jurisdictions but we do it by having universally low taxes for ALL West Virginia residents and businesses.
