Last week Rep. Jeff Duncan became a co-sponsor of the No Labels-backed No Budget, No Pay Act (H.R. 3643/S. 1981), which will suspend pay for members of Congress if they fail to pass a concurrent budget resolution and all 12 annual spending bills on time. Rep. Duncan's support brings the total count to 71 bipartisan co-sponsors for the legislation.
"By signing on to No Budget, No Pay, Congressman Duncan is expressing loud and clear that he understands Congress must be held to the same standards as every working American," said No Labels Co-Founder Mark McKinnon. "Our budget process is completely broken: Congress hasn't a passed budget and spending bills on time once in the last 15 years. This continued lateness has led to fiscal consequences for the country, and No Budget, No Pay is a big step in fixing this serious problem. We look forward to Congressman Duncan's continued leadership as we work to turn this bill into law."
