Congressman Cory Gardner (R-CO) released the following statement in response to the House voting to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress:
"Fast and Furious was a failed operation that resulted in the loss of life, and Congress has the right to demand answers. Attorney General Eric Holder's refusal to provide Congress with those answers absolutely demands that he be held in contempt. I am glad Chairman Issa has not wavered in his quest for the truth, and he has my full support.
"It is also a shame that President Obama, at the last minute, invoked executive privilege. When he was elected, President Obama promised that his administration would be the most transparent in history. We have seen through his use of executive privilege in the Fast and Furious case that he has not lived up to that promise."
