Statement

Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Judicial Branch

Representative Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-25) released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court of the United States' (SCOTUS) ruling to uphold President Obama's healthcare law.

"Today, the Supreme Court ruled to uphold the majority of President Obama's healthcare law. Throughout this entire process my concern has always been to ensure that all Americans have access to quality and affordable healthcare and that the sanctity of the doctor/patient relationship is upheld. I have spent most of my professional life in healthcare, first as a nurse and later as a healthcare attorney. I understand how important of an issue this is for all Americans. I am currently reviewing the Supreme Court decision in its entirety to determine its impact on the people, hospitals, and businesses in my district."

Representative Buerkle encourages her constituents to weigh in on their opinion of the Supreme Court's decision by participating in her "Where Do You Stand?" poll on her website www.buerkle.house.gov.
