Sullivan Votes to Hold Attorney General Holder in Contempt

Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Sullivan voted in support of two separate resolutions holding Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress over his role in operation fast and furious. The House of Representatives passed a criminal contempt resolution that begins criminal contempt proceedings for Attorney General Holder and an additional civil contempt resolution to force compliance with the subpoena that Mr. Holder has ignored.

"Attorney General has left Congress no other choice than to hold him in contempt for stonewalling, misleading and outright lying to the American people about his role in operation Fast and Furious. Holder has blatantly refused to provide answers to Congress or accountability to the American people -- he even had the audacity to ignore a congressional subpoena. The evidence of an Administration cover-up continues to multiply, and the American public deserves answers. It's our job to find them, and if we have to force the Administration's hand in a court of law to get them, we will."
