Crawford Statement on June Unemployment Report

Statement

Date: July 6, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Rick Crawford (R-AR) released the following statement this morning regarding the Department of Labor's unemployment report for June 2012:

"After 41 months of unemployment above 8 percent, it is clear that our economy is not doing fine. At home this week in Arkansas I have heard from families, small business owners and even young people who are concerned about our stagnant economy. Young people are having trouble finding work and small business owners are afraid to hire.

"President Obama's economic policies have failed. His healthcare mandate has done nothing to make healthcare more affordable or accessible and is actually making it harder for small businesses to hire. In July, the House will vote to fully repeal President Obama's government takeover of healthcare and we will vote to curtail excessive government regulations that are deterring economic growth.

"Arkansans want to grow the economy and create jobs. The House of Representatives is focused on putting our economy back on track. President Obama should do the same."
