Collins Earns Commanding Victory

Statement

Small businessman and former county executive Chris Collins tonight earned a commanding victory in the Republican Primary for New York's 27th Congressional District. Collins thanked supporters and volunteers at a victory party at the Twin Village VFW, Post 463 in Depew, New York, before turning his attention to the November election.

"America is at a tipping point. Our economy is broken. Our nation lacks a vision. And Kathy Hochul and Barack Obama are content to kick the can down the road. Their plan is more of the same old tired solutions -- higher taxes, bigger government, massive spending and runaway debt. We simply can't afford it anymore," said Collins.

Collins contrasted his record of creating jobs and cutting spending with his general election opponent Kathy Hochul's steadfast support of Barack Obama and his failed leadership of the American economy.

"My companies manufacture products here, employ American families at home, and sell our products overseas. In fact, I closed down a factory in Mexico and moved the jobs back here to Buffalo. That's something you don't hear about every day. I know what it takes to create jobs, because I've been doing it for over 40 years. And I also know what won't create jobs," said Collins

"What won't help us create jobs is more spending, bigger government and the failed leadership of Barack Obama and Kathy Hochul that is more focused on the next election than addressing our problems in America. Kathy Hochul shares Barack Obama's values -- and they are simply out of touch with our district. She may do one thing here at home to earn votes, but her record in Washington tells a far different story," said Collins

"Plain and simple, Kathy Hochul is a Barack Obama Democrat. She believes in bigger government. That's why she has protected and fought to preserve ObamaCare, which is crushing our economy and cuts over $500 billion from Medicare, decimating the Medicare Advantage program which countless numbers of seniors here in our district rely on," said Collins.

Collins concluded his speech with an optimistic vision for the future. "But we can have a brighter future. By getting government out of the way, and letting small businesses and American families embrace opportunity and freedom, we can restore the promise of the American Dream for our children and grandchildren," concluded Collins.
