GFPS: Owens: Bring Canadian Businesses to Region

U.S. Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, is laying the groundwork for a business recruitment initiative to promote the greater Glens Falls region to Canadian companies considering expanding in the United States.

"Today, coming down (on the Northway), virtually every car that passed us on the road had Quebec plates," Owens said. "So we know that there is a large contingent of Quebecers who are coming down here, at least to vacation in the region. What we want to do is reach out to those same people and see if they'll take a look at relocating some of their business."
