Issue Position: Deficit and Debt Reduction

Issue Position

With the national debt climbing closer toward $16 trillion each day, there is no question that government spending is out of control. Much of this debt accumulation has resulted from the notion that the government must spend money in order to stimulate the economy. As we saw with the failed Obama stimulus in 2009 this just will not work.

As your Congressman, I will propose and support common sense policies that will shrink the size of the federal government and require federal budgets be balanced. I will fight to restore fiscal sanity, so that our children and grandchildren will inherit a country on firm financial ground.
