Issue Position: Restoring Our Economy

Issue Position

In order for Michigan to be great once again, we need a growing and vibrant economy. High taxes and burdensome regulations have chased Michigan jobs to lower-tax, less-regulated states and overseas. Some of the key steps have been taken, but there is still much work to be done.

*We must lower the barriers to growth by repealing the personal property tax, while maintaining local revenue sharing
*End the practices of picking winners and losers and allowing free enterprise to work
*Grant freedom to Michigan's workers to determine the conditions of their employment
*Develop proven sources of energy, such as oil and natural gas, while ending subsidies for unproven, inefficient alternative energy programs
*Protect our Great Lakes and wetlands and stop invasive species such as Asian carp and phragmites
