Issues: Taxes

As our economy continues to struggle, IKE believes Congress should support pro-growth policies that leave more money in the pockets of taxpayers and support small businesses. Debt fueled "shovel-ready" stimulus spending has not helped get people back to work in a cost-effective manner. It has only allowed politicians to funnel taxpayer dollars to their political friends and cronies.

The key to turning our economy around is to remove impediments that have caused economic stagnation and the inability of businesses to create new jobs. Not continue with business as usual.

IKE believes there are several keys to getting our economy back on track. One is to reduce investor uncertainty by reducing the class warfare rhetoric and restoring a stable environment in which business decision-makers can operate. The second thing needed is to simplify the corporate tax system by removing tax loopholes that reward the companies that lobby most effectively while at the same time lowering the corporate tax rate to be competitive with the rest of the world. Additionally, we should allow American companies to return capital to the United States without immediate additional taxation as this would spur trillions in new investment with resultant increase in jobs for Americans.
