Today, Congressman Harold "Hal" Rogers (KY-05) released the following statement regarding the Supreme Court's ruling to uphold the President's health care law:
"The Supreme Court's decision to uphold Obamacare is terrible news for working families and seniors in southern and eastern Kentucky. Obamacare taxes hardworking Americans, cuts Medicare, increases health care costs, and discourages small businesses from hiring new workers. In fact, some parts of the legislation have already been abandoned as budget-busting and unaffordable. Congress has a responsibility to fully repeal Obamacare and pass common-sense legislation that actually reduces medical costs without adding to our gross national debt. I will continue to fight to repeal this misguided, job-killing law and work to ensure that families make their own decisions on health care, instead of Washington bureaucrats."
Rogers has served Kentucky's 5th Congressional District since 1981. With a focus on economic development, job creation, fighting illegal drugs and preserving southern and eastern Kentucky's natural treasures, he has a reputation for listening to his constituents and fighting for the region he represents.
