Coble Says Repeal Obamacare After Court Ruling

Based on today's Supreme Court ruling upholding the individual mandate under the Affordable Care Act, U.S. Rep. Howard Coble (R-NC) said the next step is to repeal the law completely. Congressman Coble said the best way to do that will be at the ballot box this November.

"The Supreme Court, while ruling that the individual mandate is unconstitutional under the Commerce Clause of the Constitution," Rep. Coble stated, "did say that this mandate is lawful as a tax. This verdict is a victory for those who advocate in favor of big government. The high court has now ruled in favor of the largest tax on young people in our nation's history. Based on the feedback I have received, the majority of residents in the Sixth District are opposed to this health care plan. National polls show that most Americans feel the same way. The only recourse left now is to vote out of office those who proposed and supported Obamacare."

Congressman Coble said he will vote to repeal Obamacare in July when it comes before the House to clear the way for common-sense reforms to our health care system. "I will support increased federal funding of state high-risk pools to guarantee affordable coverage to those with pre-existing health conditions," Rep. Coble added, "and would be in favor of interstate health insurance to allow families to buy plans online at a lower cost than available in their state. I am in favor of allowing children to remain on family policies up to age 26 and changing the tax code to allow individuals the same tax deductions as employers when purchasing health insurance.

"I also would support allowing individuals and small employers to create associations to buy insurance at the same cheaper group rates as large employers. All of these measures would do what Obamacare can't do, and that is make health care more accessible and more affordable for more people."
