Statement

Date: June 13, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Chairman John D. (Jay) Rockefeller IV today released the following statement on Commerce Secretary John Bryson taking a medical leave of absence:

"My thoughts are with the Secretary, his wife Louise, and his family while they work to address his medical condition. Since his confirmation, Secretary Bryson's leadership and deep business background have advanced the Department of Commerce's economic agenda. The top concern is rightly with his health and I am glad that he is taking this step. In the meantime, I have complete confidence in Rebecca Blank as the interim leader."
