Nevada's natural beauty is a national treasure and an economic asset that we must preserve for future generations.

Shelley has been a big supporter of the Southern Nevada Public Lands Management Act, which keeps proceeds from Nevada's federal land sales from leaving the state in order to expand outdoor recreation opportunities, protect Nevada's parks and provide funding to improve our schools. Since its enactment in 1998, the act has generated $3 billion for preservation of Nevada's open spaces, including Red Rock, Lake Mead, Great Basin National Park, Lake Tahoe, and Mount Charleston.

Shelley has also worked to stop cuts to our parks. She stood against a proposal to strip funding for Red Rock Canyon's road and trail maintenance, which would've forced the conservation area to shut down and dealt a blow to Southern Nevada's economy in the process.

The increase in renewable energy production throughout the state isn't just creating jobs; it's helping keep our air, water and land clean. And, Shelley will continue to promote clean energy and help break our dependence on polluting energy sources.
