This, like everything else the government takes over, is painfully inefficient, incompetent, and expensive. I support the movement to shift responsibility for education back to communities, families, churches, other religious affiliations, and charities. This would lead to diversity, liberty, and responsibility. If we put schools back into the realm of the free market, they will compete, and teachers will be able to compete and earn higher wages. The bad ones will naturally fall out of the system. When government runs something, it has no competition and no reason/impotice to rise above, innovate, and get better. When the free market is allowed to thrive, those who bring the best service for the best price lead the way. Everyone benefits. Teachers want to share knowledge, insight, wisdom, and creativity with children. The government education system stifles the teachers and cheats the students.
