Lance Statement on the May Jobs Report

Statement

Date: June 1, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today issued the following statement in reaction to the May jobs report from the U.S. Department of Labor.

"Today's jobs report is devastating news for 13 million Americans still looking for work -- a number that is unacceptably high. Today's report is further proof that President Obama's lack of leadership and failed economic policies are feeding the high unemployment rate and are creating greater economic uncertainty that is hamperingour economic recovery efforts.

"Furthermore, Senate Democrats continue to block numerous job creationbills already passed by the U.S. House of Representatives that would provide greater economic certainty for job creators and help get our economy moving again. It's high time the United States Senate acts on these sensible measures. House Republicanshave a plan to reduce spending, reform our tax code, address exploding entitlement spending and expand American energy production through projects like the Keystone XL pipeline. Doing so will deliver greater economic certainty and make it easier for job creators -- principally America's small businesses -- to expand and hire more workers."
