Our country is a country of immigrants and there is no doubt that our immigration system is broken and needs a common sense approach to comprehensive reform. Immigration reform should reflect our values as a nation, which includes consideration of the importance of families and communities, and does not unnecessarily damage our economic vitality and competiveness. I would advocate for an earned pathway to citizenship, with border security measures, holding accountable employers who knowingly violate the law, and making sure that workers and businesses pay their fair share of taxes.
