Senator Menendez led the fight to crack down on credit card companies and their abusive practices, because families should be able to get a credit card without fear of being scammed. He eliminated hidden fees, reigned-in excessive rate hikes, and stopped the credit card companies from using misleading rules.

Bob helped provide assistance to Americans who want to work but can't find jobs by voting to extend unemployment benefits and creating tax incentives to encourage businesses to hire the unemployed.

Menendez has championed middle class tax relief and fought to shield middle class families from the A.M.T. tax, while expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Child Tax Credit, saving the average New Jersey family thousands of dollars.

To help New Jersey families deal with burden of high property taxes, Bob fought to ensure families could deduct property taxes from their federal income taxes, saving the average New Jersey family hundreds of dollars.

Bob Menendez is proud to have supported the historic legislation to stop employers from discriminating against women who do the same jobs as men, making sure women get equal pay for equal work.
