Issue Position: Tax Reform

Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2016

Washington doesn't have a tax problem, it has a spending problem. There are those in Washington who believe higher taxes are the answer to our economic problems; I am not one of those people. I believe that until government gets serious about spending reforms, it is irresponsible to look to our families and job creators for more tax revenue. Like the rest of Washington, the tax code is broken. We need to develop a system that makes sense and encourages economic growth. In a global economy American companies need to be incentivized to keep their companies within our borders, and having the highest corporate tax rate in the world is not offering any incentive to those companies to hire our workers here at home.

We need a system that gets rid of loopholes and tax breaks brought on by special interests. We need a smart tax code that levels the playing field and encourages our job creators to invest in our communities.
