It's National Small Business Week and I hope you had the chance to visit and show support this week for those busineses in your community. According to the latest federal data there are over 750,000 small businesses in Michigan and they play an important role keeping communities successful and our nation competitive.
However, small businesses and entrepreneurs face many challenges in our current economy. This week I launched Doing Business in MI-07, a new website feature offering resources for both businesses and job seekers tailored specifically to the 7th district. Creating long-term job growth in Michigan remains a top priority of mine and I hope you find the webpage helpful.
Lastly, I had the privilege of hosting a group of students from Washtenaw County that were awarded Honorable Mention in NASA's International Space Settlement Design Contest. Congrats to Alexander Quinn, William Brighton, Matthew Koziol and Laria Reynolds for their hard work and creativity.
