Obama's Spending Addiction

Statement

Date: May 14, 2012

U.S. Senate candidate David Dewhurst issued the following statement after the White House today announced they are "cracking down" on conference spending -- capping all federal conferences at $500,000.

"President Barack Obama is constitutionally incapable of reining in spending," said David Dewhurst. "Three and a half years into his administration, President Obama has added $5 trillion in debt, and his major initiative today is to cap government conferences at $500,000 in spending. After overseeing the three largest deficits in history, it's no surprise that President Obama is not serious about cracking down on government spending. I am running for U.S. Senate to stop the avalanche of spending and debt that is drowning our country."
