Hall Receives Guardian of Seniors' Rights Award

Legendary entertainer Pat Boone, spokesman for the 60 Plus Association, announced that Representative Ralph Hall (TX-04) has earned the groups highest honor, the Guardian of Seniors Rights award. 60 Plus Chairman Jim Martin, who founded the organization in 1992, presented the award last week at a ceremony on Capitol Hill. 60 Plus is a national non-partisan senior citizens group.

Representative Hall can be counted on to preserve Social Security and Medicare, Martin said. Hall is a tax cutter, protecting the pocket books of senior citizens and Representative Hall is fighting wasteful spending of our tax dollars which has our government now borrowing over 40 cents of every dollar to pay its bills. Seniors have to live within their means and so should our government.
As to the phony charge that Representative Hall wants to end Medicare as we know it, they say a lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth catches up to it. This despicable Medi-Scare tactic has now been used for over 15 years.

Martin added, They now run television ads showing granny being pushed over a cliff in a wheelchair. It was irresponsible then. Its irresponsible now. But scaring seniors with these false attacks is unfortunately in the Democrats DNA. Seniors deserve better.

"I am deeply honored to receive this award," said Rep. Hall. "Congress has a responsibility to honestly address the health care challenges facing America. We need to work to increase health care quality, access, and affordability, and achieve these necessary reforms without higher taxes, higher costs, individual mandates, or a government takeover of health care. It is vital that while we work towards these goals, we preserve the sustainability of Medicare for our seniors. I have always supported, Medicare and Social Studies and will continue to vote to make sure that we honor our contracts with our senior citizens and also preserve these programs for future generations."
The Associations Guardian Award is presented to Members of Congress based on their senior friendly voting records.
