Congressman Leonard Boswell (IA-3), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded grants to the Grinnell and Vinton airports.
"This funding will help keep these airport facilities in tip-top shape," Boswell said. "Maintaining these regional airports is especially important to rural development and helping to attract new business to the area."
Details of the awards are as follows:
Grinnell Regional Airport, City of Grinnell - $351,000 to rehabilitate existing runway
Vinton Veterans Memorial Airpark, City of Vinton - $43,290 to fund the design for the rehabilitation of existing runway pavement
