Issue Position

The tax code needs reform. Successful small business owners and professionals--those who contribute positively to the communities in which we live and create jobs--are burdened with the highest tax rate, while extremely wealthy citizens escape paying their fair share through diversified income options that elude most Americans. Corporations all-too-often find loopholes to escape their tax liability.

The question of increased revenue should not fall on the backs of small business owners and the successful middle class. We need an overhaul of the tax code so that the burden is placed as fairly as possible across the spectrum of American wage-earners and salary-earners, the wealthy, and corporations.
