Rep. Yoder's Statement on Israeli Independence Day

Statement

Date: April 26, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Congressman Kevin Yoder made the following statement in recognition of Israeli Independence Day. April 26, 2012 marks the 64th Anniversary of Israeli Independence.

"Today marks the sixty-fourth anniversary of Israeli independence and I congratulate our good friend on this historic day. The United States and Israel share a remarkable bond that is based on our mutual love for democracy and human rights. It is for this reason that the United States recognized the new nation of Israel only eleven minutes after its inception. We have been the closest of allies ever since.

We will continue our steadfast support of Israel and look forward to working closely together to spread that values of democracy and freedom to all its neighbors.

On this sixty-fourth birthday of Israel, I wish President Peres, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the people of Israel the very best as they celebrate their history and achievements of the past six decades."

Rep. Yoder signed on to H. Con. Res. 115 recognizing the 64th anniversary of the independence of State of Israel.
