Congressman Todd Akin released the following statement after voting no last night on H.R. 3523, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA):
"Cyber threats are real and growing and I believe that we should be responding to this threat proactively. However, I believe that we can and should address these threats in a way that protects the privacy of American citizens. Whenever there are doubts or questions, I believe we should err on the side of protecting the Constitutional rights of all Americans."
