Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) today issued the following statement on the fifth anniversary of the Virginia Tech tragedy:
"Five years later, the tragic events that took place at Virginia Tech remain in the forefront of our hearts and minds. As a father of three college age kids, I know how heartbreaking it is to think of the terrible loss of so many promising young lives, including two students from my district. Today, we remember the victims, their families and those who survived this horrible tragedy. We are also reminded of Virginia Tech's strong resurgence in the aftermath of such violence. Thanks to the remarkable spirit of the Virginia Tech community and the generous outpouring of support from friends and neighbors across the Commonwealth and the country, the Hokie Nation has been able to come together and emerge even stronger."
