Issue Position

Defense of our nation is the #1 priority of our government. We must insure that our armed forces get the best equipment, training, and leadership possible. Yet national security means more than just having enough guns, planes, ships and bombs. Without a vibrant economy to support our nation, our defense will suffer. Being dependent on unstable foreign countries for our oil, our minerals, our manufacturing, and our food puts our nation at the mercy of Third-World dictators. We need to unleash American industry and agriculture and regain our self-sufficiency in food, energy production and manufacturing. The recent cancellation of the Keystone oil pipeline by President Obama was a treacherous blow to our energy self-sufficiency.
