Hutchison Statement on Disaster Relief and Recovery Efforts From Severe Weather in North Texas

Statement

Date: April 5, 2012
Location: Dallas, TX

U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) released the following statement regarding the disaster relief and recovery efforts in response to the severe weather that recently hit North Texas:

"I've spoken to the Mayors of Arlington, Forney, Coppell and Lancaster today to offer assistance. Obviously, this is a very tough time for the affected people and businesses. The mayors with whom I've spoken tell me that their communities are getting the assistance they need right now. They also tell me that the outpouring of help from volunteers, community agencies, and emergency responders has been extraordinary. Of course, that's Texans being Texans. And as the damage assessments and clean-up continue, we all thank heaven that despite the incredible destruction of homes and property there were no deaths and relatively few injuries."
