Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) released the latest installment of Ask Peter today, a frequent video conversation with Sixth District residents about issues important to them. In this segment, Congressman Roskam responded to a tweet from Robert Ewoldt from Naperville and an email from Sandra Weise from Schaumburg about the House Republican Budget, The Path to Prosperity.

I'm Congressman Peter Roskam. Welcome back to Ask Peter.
I wanted to respond to a tweet from Robert Ewoldt from Naperville and also an email from Sandra Weise from Schaumburg about the House Republican Budget.
Look, here's the deal. The United States is on a pathway right now to a very predictable event, that is a debt crisis. And President Obama and his policies are just compounding this. We have more debt under President Obama's leadership and his presidency than any other presidency in the history of the country.
So what do we do? The House Republicans have passed a budget which deals with trying to strengthen and preserve Medicare so it's there for seniors and future generations, but also trying to get us on a pathway to balance our budget and pay off our debt. The key here is to transform our tax code and fundamentally create a growth agenda so that we can grow our way out of these problems.
I'm Congressman Peter Roskam, I need to hear from you on Facebook, Twitter, email or send an old fashioned letter or postcard.
Thanks for watching.
