Supporting our military only during wartime and not when they return to the home front is not really supporting our military. Our country must always honor those who have served. My grandfather is a World War II veteran. I had the honor of traveling with him two years ago on an honor flight to Washington, D.C. to see the WWII memorial, along with many other WWII veterans from Johnston County. The trip was life changing. I support those serving in the military today along with every man and woman who has worn the uniform throughout the history of our great nation. I believe the military should be provided with the equipment to complete their mission, including their personal protection. I also believe our country has an obligation to provide for surviving family members of those killed in the line of duty. This obligation to our military is our current obligation, not the obligation of our grandchildren.
