Rep. Judy Chu, D-El Monte, issued the following statement today in response to the March 24 shooting death of 19-year-old Kendrec McDade by police officers in Pasadena:

"My heart goes out to the family of Kendrec McDade, his friends and classmates, in the wake of this tragic incident," said Rep. Chu. "It is clear that there are still many unanswered questions surrounding the death of Mr. McDade. I urge the city of Pasadena, the Pasadena Police Department, and other relevant agencies to complete their investigations of this incident in a thorough and timely manner, so that the community's questions can be answered. We must ensure that the circumstances leading up to the death of Kendrec McDade are never repeated, and only a complete, thorough and impartial investigation can ensure this."
