Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Veterans

Representative Sandy Adams (FL-24) released the following statement regarding the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs upcoming hearing on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) construction delays. Adams sent a letter one week ago to the chairman of the committee, Jeff Miller (FL-01), requesting the committee to hold a hearing to investigate the Orlando VA Medical Center delays.

"I am pleased that the House Committee on Veterans' Affairs will be holding a full committee hearing to investigate the Orlando VA Medical Center construction delays. I recently sent a letter to the chairman of the committee, Jeff Miller (FL-01), requesting him to do just that. By holding an oversight hearing on construction projects like these throughout the VA system, we can prevent this type of problem from occurring in the future. After serving our nation honorably, our veterans deserve to have the best care for their service-connected medical needs. I applaud Chairman Miller's recognition of this and his leadership on this issue. This is a positive step forward for Florida's veterans and hard working taxpayers."
