Issue Position

As a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and former Army officer, I am committed to providing for a strong national defense and ensuring our Armed Forces have the support and resources they need to defend our nation. We can afford a strong national defense; however, our nation's tax dollars must be spent wisely. Uncovering and exposing misuses of taxpayers' money should be the goal of all Members of Congress--and that applies to the area of defense spending, too.

Our nation must also continue to keep its promises to our veterans. It is important to ensure that those leaving the military have access to the resources needed to re-enter civilian life. Veterans deserve a VA hospital system that works efficiently and in a timely manner to address all ailments--physical and mental. We must never turn our backs on our veterans and military retirees. They deserve our unwavering respect and support. I will continue to support legislation that benefits our nation's heroes.
