Marshall Space Flight Center and NASA are important priorities for Congressman Brooks. Congressman Brooks is a member of the House Science, Space and, Technology Committee (SST), a member of its Space and Aeronautics Subcommittee (which has jurisdiction and oversight of NASA programs), and the chairman of SST's Research and Science Education subcommittee. Brooks recently worked with other Members to include FY 2011 appropriations language that authorizes $1.8 billion in funds for, and requires NASA to build, a 130 metric ton Heavy Lift Vehicle (HLV).
