Bono Mack Says President's New Budget Cuts Too Little, Spends Too Much

Location: Washington, DC

As expected, President Obama released his $3.8 trillion budget for the next fiscal year, raising taxes and significantly increasing spending on domestic programs. Calling the budget "irresponsible," Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack (CA-45) released the following statement:

"Once again, the President appears to be tone deaf to what Americans want and expect from the federal government. The Administration's budget piles new debt and obligations on our children and grandchildren, threatening their future prosperity. It's simply irresponsible. Instead of adding new programs that we can't afford, we should be dramatically cutting ones that are non-essential. Under his budget, the President will be 4-for-4 when it comes to trillion dollar deficits. That would leave our kids 0-for-4 and counting."
