Lance Lauds House Passage of STOCK Act

Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (7th District) voted today for passage of the STOCK Act, legislation to ban congressional lawmakers and senior aides from securities trading based on non-public information. The measure, which also applies to executive and judicial branch officials, passed by a vote of 417 to 2 and returns to the Senate for consideration.

"No member of Congress or executive branch employee should profit from insider trading," said Lance, a co-sponsor of the bill. "The STOCK Act will increase government transparency and hold elected and government officials to the same ethical standard as the general public."
