Today Rep. Todd Rokita issued the following statement regarding the President's FY2013 Budget.

"All Americans are concerned about the direction of our nation. As a Member of the House Budget Committee, I have been working to reform how our government budgets and spends taxpayer money, so that we can make the tough choices needed that will rein in our out of control spending, pay down our crushing debts, and reform and protect important programs like Social Security and Medicare.

Unfortunately, the budget proposed this morning by President Obama is an inadequate response to the serious problems facing our nation.

Getting our spending under control and paying down our debt is the single most important issue facing our country. The news across Europe, and especially in Greece, is a stark reminder of what we will face if we do not address our spending and borrowing problems now, while we still have time.

While I am disappointed in President Obama's budget, I am confident that the American people are ready for this debate and I look forward to working with any one in Congress who is prepared to face our serious problems head on."
