Statement

Date: Feb. 9, 2012
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) voted for the STOCK Act, which prohibits Members of Congress and employees of Congress from using nonpublic information for personal gain. After the House passed the bill by a vote of 417-2, Congressman Stutzman issued the following statement:

"Members of Congress who swore to uphold and defend the Constitution have no business trading on inside information. Public servants should serve the public with integrity. It's as simple as that. The bill we passed today strengthens the Senate's version by broadening the scope and creating a workable and transparent solution. Senator Reid should pass this legislation without delay."
