Issue Position

In South Texas, we have located under the ground's surface sits oil and natural gas, which is a clean burning, affordable, and abundant energy source. Our dependence on foreign oil puts our economy at risk, and our national security in constant alert having to rely on the resources of unstable and sometimes hostile foreign regimes. We have a rich abundance of natural resources, as well as a skilled labor force necessary to be energy self reliant. In South Texas, we have located under the ground's surface sits oil and natural gas, which is a clean burning, affordable, and abundant energy source. Congress needs to come up with a comprehensive plan to rely on our own natural resources.
